Odoo 19 Surveys: build questions, share link, collect answers, analyse results

We are a hotel in Muscat using Odoo 19 Surveys for guest feedback. We ask guests whether they used the restaurant, and only those who answer yes should see the restaurant rating questions.

Right now every guest sees all questions and many skip them or give random answers. Can Odoo hide questions based on a previous answer, and does this work with multiple choice questions?

Yes. Odoo 19 Surveys supports conditional display, so a question is shown only when the participant selected a specific answer to a previous choice question.

  • Open the survey and make sure the trigger question, for example Did you use our restaurant, is a single or multiple choice question placed before the dependent questions.
  • Open the restaurant rating question and go to its options tab.
  • Enable the conditional display option and select the triggering answer, in this case Yes from the restaurant question.
  • Repeat this for each restaurant question, or place them together in a section and keep each one conditional on the same answer.
  • Use the test button to try the survey with both a yes and a no answer and confirm the questions appear and hide as expected.

Check the survey layout as well; conditional questions behave most naturally when the survey is displayed one page per section or one question per page. Results for hidden questions simply show fewer answers, which keeps your analysis clean.
