This is usually a configuration gap rather than a bug. A reordering rule only creates a request for quotation when the product has a valid replenishment route and a vendor, and the rule is set to trigger automatically.
- Open the product and check that the Buy route is selected on the Inventory tab, and that the product is a goods product tracked in inventory.
- On the Purchase tab, add at least one vendor in the vendor list with a price and lead time.
- Open Inventory, Operations, Replenishment, and check that the rule's trigger is Auto, not Manual, and that the location is the stock location of the right warehouse.
- Remember that forecasted quantity is used, not on hand, so confirmed sales and incoming receipts change the result.
- Use the Order Once button on the replenishment view to test, or wait for the scheduler, which runs automatically.
After that, new draft requests for quotation will appear in Purchase, grouped by vendor, ready for review and confirmation.
