Odoo 19 Quality workflow: control point, quality check, alert, corrective action

We import spare parts into Baghdad and receive many shipments every week. Checking every receipt is not realistic for our small quality team.

We want Odoo 19 to ask for a quality check on only part of the receipts for certain product categories, and block validation when the check is required. Can Quality do sampling like this?

Yes. Quality control points in Odoo 19 have a control frequency setting, and one of the options is random checks based on a percentage.

  • In Quality, go to Quality Control and then Control Points, and create a new control point.
  • Select the product category, or specific products, and the operation type for receipts.
  • Choose the type of check, such as pass or fail or a measurement, and assign the quality team responsible.
  • Set the control frequency to randomly and enter the percentage of operations to check.
  • Validate a few receipts to test, and confirm that when a check is created, it must be completed before the receipt can be validated.

If a check fails, create a quality alert from it to document the supplier issue. Over time, the checks report shows which suppliers need stricter sampling.
