We are a company in Egypt and we must issue e-invoices through the Egyptian Tax Authority portal. Can Odoo send invoices to ETA directly, and what do we need to prepare before going live?

Yes. Odoo includes an Egyptian localization with an ETA e-invoicing connector, so validated customer invoices can be signed and submitted from Odoo instead of being re-entered on the portal.
What to prepare
- Register your company on the ETA e-invoicing portal and create the ERP system credentials (client ID and secret) there.
- Obtain the electronic signature token from an approved provider and install its driver on the machine that will sign.
- Code your products with the ETA item codes (GS1 or EGS) and set the correct unit of measure codes.
- Configure taxes in Odoo so each tax carries the matching ETA tax type and sub-type.
- Complete the company and customer addresses, tax registration numbers and branch details.
Recommended approach
Test on the ETA pre-production environment first, send a small batch of real-looking invoices, check the submission status in Odoo, then switch to production. Keep the signing token connected during working hours, otherwise invoices stay waiting for signature.
