We are comparing the free Community edition with Enterprise. What do we actually lose with Community, and when is Enterprise worth it?

Both editions share the same core framework. Enterprise adds applications, features and services on top of Community.

Typical differences

  • Accounting: Community offers invoicing; full accounting with bank synchronization, reports and reconciliation tools is in Enterprise.
  • Studio, for building screens and fields without code, is Enterprise only.
  • Several apps such as Payroll, Planning, Quality, PLM, Field Service and Helpdesk are Enterprise apps.
  • Enterprise includes the official mobile apps, official support and the Odoo upgrade service.
  • Hosting on Odoo Online or Odoo.sh requires Enterprise.

Community suits small teams with simple needs and in-house technical skills. If you need full accounting, payroll, Studio or easy version upgrades, Enterprise usually costs less overall than rebuilding those features yourself.
