There are three main options, and the right one depends mainly on customization needs and internal IT capacity.
Comparison
- Odoo Online: software as a service managed by Odoo, with automatic upgrades; custom code modules are not allowed, but Studio is available.
- Odoo.sh: cloud platform managed by Odoo that allows custom modules, with staging branches, backups and Git-based deployment.
- On-premise or private cloud: full control of the server, but your team handles security, backups, monitoring and upgrades.
If you need custom modules but not a server team, Odoo.sh is usually the balanced choice. Data location requirements in your country can also influence the decision.
